Overview

Ontology is the study of what exists. It helps us sort reality into three zones:

  1. the part we can observe and measure (Cosmos),
  2. the part that many worldviews say lies beyond ordinary experience (Transcendent), and
  3. the part we simply do not know yet (Apeiron).

Ontology does not begin by assuming any particular answer; instead, it seeks to clarify the categories of being, the relationships between them, and the principles by which entities are recognized, distinguished, or grouped.

This gives us a common philosophical map for discussing science, religion, metaphysics, and uncertainty in a disciplined way.
