Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant. The natural form contains a mixture of various tocopherols and tocotrienes, all of which have synergistic effects. Artificial DL-alpha-tocopherol is often found in nutritional supplements, but actually is inflammatory in people who have certain genetic polymorphisms.
