Overview

A chronic, incurable sexually transmitted disease caused by the Herpes simplex virus. Symptoms are painful, fluid-filled skin vesicles on a reddish base; but often asymptomatic. Genital and/or anal lesions come and go; disease transmission often occurs when no lesions are visible.

Prevention is by abstinence or monogamy, although careful and consistent condom use may provide some protection.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

Dr. Deanna Windham states that "LDN improves the immune systems's response to infections, including" herpes [type unspecified], "likely due to its immunomodulary effects on T cells, monocytes, and macrophages" [Elsegood2016, pg 36] Dr. Weyrich has been trained in the use of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). However, Dr. Weyrich has not treated any cases of herpes genitalis with LDN.
